Dear Byron: I think this rapid rise has more to do with the new technology and the articles in New York Times etc about it that SUNW is introducing. Its really exciting to me at least and I guess to the market in general. This could be the start of something really big for SUNW. JDN

Look at today's New York Times. Front page article on SUNW's distributed computing

On Wednesday SUNW will unveil the first consumer version of technology. The product is called "Jini". It uses Sun's Java programming language to harness the power of millions of computers.

If I can get rid of Windows! I will be very happy.

Today, as you know, consumer devices are attached to PC and controlled by operating system.

With Jini, the networks becomes the computer. Each consumer device will be able to communicate directly with every other device so that many tasks are independent of computer and its operating system.

Try and buy the paper. The article describes Jini well. The diagrams are also good!!!

Jini may be a big leap forward!!!!
