From Fleck's yesterday rap:
<<Another highly popular name, Sunbeam, is being investigated for accounting
irregularities. Business Week has an article this week discussing the fact
that two-thirds of all CFOs have either cooked the books or been asked to
cook the books. It's an interesting article that gets back to this whole
business of corporate (shall we say) fibbing.

It's almost as though investors now believe, "We don't care if you lie to us; as
a matter of fact we love it--just don't get caught lying to us." There doesn't
seem to be any outrage over this sort of activity, but I believe there will be
down the road when the dust settles in the bear market. There will be big
investigations on accounting irregularities and, in my opinion, mutual fund
market manipulation. There is a lot of this going on that no one seems to
care about because they haven't been hurt too badly--yet. >>
