Paul,

I for one will not hold the fact that you were wrong against you..In fact you have been consistently right about NOVL and the market direction in general!! Well maybe you have been early cashing out or shorting the market..or buying metals..or calling black Monday's every month..but hey we all make mistakes Paul..

Keep it up Paul! Kee'p them coming!

Victor

Maybe it was this quote by Eric Schmidt in the San Jose Mercury News and New York Times today...

New Sun technology to extend PC power
BY MIGUEL HELFT
Mercury News Staff Writer
(https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=5199854)
"...As a technology, it is very significant," said Eric Schmidt..."

".... As Sun's former chief technology officer, Schmidt had a hand in Jini's genesis. "The real problem it has is that it is not from Microsoft." Schmidt said that anyone trying to create a new software architecture needs a good strategy to outmaneuver the software giant..."

=====================================================================

Also front page of the NY times today regarding Sunw's announcement of Jini. The network is the computer (I believe Novell at one time used this slogan...)

More information on the announcement see my post Message 5202684

Now could CEO Schmidt also be developing a similar protocal to utilize embedded system software over the network ...perhaps Jini compliant. CEO Schmidt was in on the early stages of this development program four years under wraps at SUNW.

What other avenue does SUNW and/or Novell have to leap frog Microsoft. It appears to me a win/win for all....Maybe this is why Novell moved higher today.

P.S. I also have it on good authority that an internal audit at Novell has discovered "significant" additional royalty revenues from VAR Netware sales not previously paid as a result of the prior years "channel stuffing". It may be as high as 10% to 20% of the inventory write off. This audit review to be completed prior to the Netware 5.0 release and any adjustments to previously reported revenues may hit 3rd quarter results. I see it as additional gravy that Novell can utilize to manage earnings to a "positive" bias. Again just a rumor but such a management overview would help provide the street analysts confidence with their earnings estimates moving forward.
