DoubleClick Revenues Increase 33% in Second Quarter 1998
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1998--DoubleClick, Inc. (Nasdaq: DCLK - news), a leading provider of comprehensive Internet advertising solutions, today announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 1998.
The Company reported revenues of $17,293,000 for the second quarter of 1998, a 33 percent increase over revenues of $13,004,000 reported for the first quarter of 1998, and a 182 percent increase over revenues of $6,138,000 reported for the second quarter of 1997. The net loss for the second quarter of 1998 was $4,674,000, or $0.28 per share, compared to a net loss of $4,427,000, or $0.31 per share on a pro forma basis, for the first quarter of 1998, and a net loss of $1,230,000, or $0.11 per share on a pro forma basis, for the second quarter of 1997.
The Company reported revenues of $30,297,000 for the six months ended June 30, 1998, a 164 percent increase over revenues of $11,468,000 reported for the six months ended June 30, 1997. The net loss for the six months ended June 30, 1998 was $9,101,000, or $0.59 per share on a pro forma basis, compared to a net loss of $2,472,000, or $0.22 per share on a pro forma basis, for the six months ended June 30, 1997.

DoubleClick announced today that traffic continued its positive trend delivering an average of 81 million ad impressions per day during the month of June 1998 compared to 60 million ad impression per day during the month of March 1998, or an increase of 35 percent.
In addition, the number of Web publishers serviced by the DART technology, including Web publishers that are part of the DoubleClick Network, increased to approximately 325, with 2,900 unique sites in the second quarter of 1998, an increase from approximately 220 Web publishers with 1,750 unique sites in the first quarter.

According to Media Metrix, the reach of the DoubleClick Network, including the AltaVista Web site, is one of the largest on the Internet. Media Metrix is now including the DoubleClick Network and other Web-based networks as part of its standard reports. In addition, the number of Web publishers serviced on the DoubleClick Network increased to approximately 230, with 840 unique sites in the second quarter of 1998, an increase from approximately 170 Web publishers with 640 unique sites in the first quarter. |
