Blankmind,
According to the "source", Doug is correct in his assumptions, at least as far as the Rochester, NH facility. Source responds that Rochester has continually struggled with poor manufacturing quality that has worsened as product became more developed. In the early 90's CS had an easy time maintaining a large body of in-house technicians who were only responsible for repairing manufacturing defects, sometimes on a 24 hour basis.

As the economy grew stronger and CB resisted raising pay, many of those technicians moved on to better jobs. This has caused an inability of CS to repair and/or upgrade "on the fly". This may also be partially responsible for their lag in delivering the goods technologically.

Repairing manufacturing defects hot off the line, coupled with in inordinate amount of product returns, has caused much overhead (and headaches) at the Rochester facilities.

For what it's worth, always IMHO!!!

Still out here Captain, took a little time off to finally enjoy the arrival of summer in these here parts. Source reports that CB is beside himself trying to discover who "spilled" the martini!!!
