Rosemary, They say most options players lose all their money eventually so don't feel bad. I usually buy very near expiration calls and I lose most of the time but ... if I "Hit" ... like on the JBL July40s ... even once in a great while, I can pay for my hobby.

I am still feeling very positive about JBL (and SLR and SCI, etc) as the trend towards outsourcing electronic assembly is very healthy. I have no idea if they will get to $40 this week but it sure would be nice! 16X on the options I bought today if they hit $41 or so. Why not buy some yourself too? At .06 each they don't cost much.

Hi Rosemary,

Well, I got my options today. Picked up 15 contracts March 30
(1999) for 6 3/8 apiece ($9500). So at today's price of 30 1/2,
I'm holding the right to buy $45,750 of Jabil stock for $9500.
So far another 13 contracts have traded at $6 (duh) for a total
of 28 contracts March 30's traded today. Wish me luck. Now that
I've got them not sure I really want them! That's probably a
good sign as so much of trading is actually counterintuitive
and going against your emotions. So at some point over the next
8 months, Jabil needs to approach $36 for me to get to breakeven.
I usually don't post my trades publicly but was interested in any
responses from the Jabil peanut gallery. It'd be interesting if
someone who follows this thread wrote the options I bought. Anyone
up for a discussion of the pro's and con's of options trading?
Any options mavens out there care to dissect this trade? It's
okay if you think I could have done better. I'm here to learn.
Y'all can see how I make out from now till March. Good luck to
all. Peter.
