As I recall the Hayes merger, renaming, and listing under a new name took 5-6 months. Agree that JM would know more about the logistics involved.

Also -- and unfortunately I don't have time to research it right now so I probably shouldn't open my mouth (but will anyway :-)) -- but I'm 90% certain the privately held, Iowa-based, telecom company DCI was benchmarked against in the Corinthian Report went public and got listed the same way -- buy buying a small listed outfit (and I think the combination has been doing quite well since).
