Yes! We did get a (5 second) mention on CNBC w/ Joe Kernan!

Although Joe was more interested in taking off Friday than talking about stocks. I guess CNBC is just fluff after all. Most of these morons only own Microsoft and Yahoo! anyway.

MSFT: $1.56/share earnings stock price: $117.375
YHOO: ($0.73)/share LOSS stock price: $181.75

repeat to yourself...there's no place like home...there's no place like home...

Some of my notes from the CC......

Revenue increase of 900% from 2/2/97 to now...
Revenue increase for qtr right on target at 17.5%....
"delighted with our performance"...
1.5 million V2 thru Q2..."at least" another 1.5 million "conservative estimate"...have sold 2.5 million V1...10-30% of V2 buyers are going with SLI...(!)
Several other OEMs have POs (purchase orders) and will announce this qtr.
"very confident" on Banshee OEM deals...
"98 is a warm-up for 1999"
by Q3 there will be 60 titles that are Glide exclusive...
Marketing by the ad agency that did "got milk" and Budweiser...
Maintaining technology lead..."nobody" can beat a V2...TNT falls "far short" of V2...
Banshee 100 pts higher than TNT on Winbench ....
Laura O. has left TDFX....
Q2 Revenues: 90% V2 and 10% V1....
48.1 gross margin...in line with expectations...
Accts receivable down to 61 days from 68...aiming for 55
Inventory higher due to ordering for a canceled card (referred to as Voodoo 1 1/2) but is not a problem as the material will all be used in the V2 cards.
Sales of V1 has actually increased at retail the last few weeks due to lower price points...pointed out it is still the #2 performing card on the market...
Gross margins forward should hold....
Opr expense will be slightly higher, but expect to offset...
R&D higher than forcast due to recruited talent and new development tools...
Banshee OEM deals...Ballard feels "very very good" and will announce this qtr and next...
Another card that is a Banshee AGP2X "exclusive OEM - not retail" will be "available for the OEM cycle for 1999"....
Soon to come Press Release regarding Glide exclusive games...mentioned Electronic Arts by name....
Q3 revenues = 10% Banshee...Q4 revenues = 25% Banshee....
Said there are 5-7 million "avid gamers" and millions more "casual gamers"....

This was a bit rushed...sorry about poor format and spelling...hope it is helpful....

Regards,

David

I listened into the CC.

Banshee OEM comments were that they had positive response but nothing decided yet and they're keeping who under wraps. They mentioned that they're ramped and ready to support OEM's

The signed PO comments for Banshee referred to board makers that are not yet announced.

They killed a "Voodoo 1 1/2" product - inventory is on hand to turn into Voodoo II.

Heavy emphasis that branding and content coupled with excellent technology will be their key.
