Unit wise the it was slightly lower at 644K this Q compare to last Q.

Year over year unit sales were also down, 698,000 vs. 644,000 this quarter. I attribute the fall to two things; first is the slow ramp up of the G3 PowerBooks, with relatively few older models in the channel to take up the slack; second is the iMac preannouncement which reportedly caused a significant number of G3 desktop buyers to hold off purchases. Looks like education sales saved further damage to the overall numbers.

I also believe Q4 will more than make up for the dropoff, as long as Apple can make the iMacs fast enough.
