Gary,

This does not surprise me. He realizes that people (ie. LU) are looking at them (may need them) now.

all imho

Gary and to all others :

Does anyone have any comments on this post from Yahoo :

invested a lot of money in the Cascade equipment, and got burned
when the equipment did not live up to expectations. In fact,
caused a very severe outage. StrataCom came to the rescue. When
it comes to backbone equipment with the Telcos, Cisco (StrataCom)
is a shoe in. <<<<<

Gary and all,

I do not believe Cisco would buy ASND. Chambers has repeatedly emphasized the need for compatible corporate cultures. ASND would be very difficult to integrate in that regard, and almost impossible to do it in an accretive fashion at the price it would take at present. And it just doesn't need them - CSCO has the data side nailed; it needs (perhaps) the voice side. Nor do I think they need to buy ASND to keep it out of LU's hands; in fact, I think that deal would hamstring LU for awhile while ASND was being digested. I think Chambers would just sit by chuckling while those two tried to make a marriage work, and CSCO was eating their lunch in the meantime.

Gary,
Re -- He appears very cocky for a company that beat estimates by one penny. I just don't feel comfortable with that... Do you?

BIG contracts with ATT, GTE, QWEST and NTT, KICKING Cisco's BUTT to high heaven in each of those bids gives him that confidence.

Should we pay attention to you (an IDIOT character on the cisco thread) or Mory (CEO of a company, who has access to a lot of information).

I suggest Gary, you dont try your pathetic response to this. Even though I'll bet you do.
