ricer: I am not sure what you are agreeing with me on. Several of the net stocks have traded in a single day, multiples of their floats.

I do think EGGS rise has been in a major part, by hype and investor mania. (Just like many of the high flying net stocks.) I am from the old school of investing. I shook my head long enough, I decided, to ride the hype along with the S/MM"s.

Heaven help the buy and holds and the last one in, they will pay the freight.

Having said all that, I hope EGGS does go back up. I am an old customer and wish the company well.

Regards,
LG

EDIT: EGGS has many competitors out there already established. CompUSA online, PC/Mac Connection, PC Zone, ETC.

I think that Egghead has the potential to do for the computer industry what amazon has done for the book industry. Computers are where it's at right now. Egghead is where it's at right now within this industry.

Sorry, this doesn't make any sense to me. I consider myself a bit of book nut & computer nut. I have no problem buying stuff through the web and have done so since it was possible. My last 2 computers were purchased through the web (Gateway). I love the Amazon site and make a purchase from them every couple of weeks. As for software, I've never used Egghead but have no problem doing so. However, in a year I spend less than 1% of the money on software that I spend on books. I'm I that unusual? How much software do you buy in a year? Amazon may not make a profit for many years but at least a lot of people are going to send them a lot of money. EGGS needs to have more than software going for it (as they know). I'm not sure auctions alone will be enough, but IMO it's got to be more than software.

(Of course, this ignores the endless opportunities for competition in software, books & auctions, but that's not my point).
