Could they of then shorted it and made some more

Not that the VSE does a lot of enforcing on regulations but I am really sure that shorting a stock is illegal for an insider and also employees possibly.

I am not saying that it cannot be done as shorting on a downtick is illegal also on some exchanges.

Warrants are a come on to the stock buyer. The company will always drop the price to see the warrants don't get exercised and all that stock thrown at the market. Options on the other hand are held by management. Funny how they always get exercised or repriced if necessary.
