One last question for anyone who cares to answer. I someone had a great deal of money
and bought lots of shares of AMZN, and then dumped them all at once causing the price
to fall quickly the day before expiration of options AND HELD TONS OF PUTS
couldn't they make tons of money? I have always wondered why stocks do not move
more the day before and the day options expire for this very reason -

Robert,

This does occur both from individual investors and the option MMs to square positions. I cannot correlate this as well to AMZN because the option OI is everywhere. Many stock, less volitile, will have a tendency to close on expiration at the strike price that is most profitable to the option MMs.
