I beleive the question of whether this thread and SI has an effect on the stock has been answered as far as I am concerned. It certainly does!!! The memo read as follows: 7/15/98 12:05:55 HARKEN ENERGY: 2 rumors in the market place on Harken right now and neither one is true. First, the rumor of a bottomless convertible preferred issue is not true and there is no such animal. Also, the company has no plans near term for financing. Second there is a rumor of a dry well in Columbia which is also not true. We beleive there is upside reserve potential and HEC currently has 3 rigs operating in Columbia. We maintain our attractive rating with a $10 price target. I have typed the above information exactly as it is in the memo from P/W. I hope whatever the agenda was by the individuals who started all this crap has been accomplished and they will get the hell out of the picture. I am tired of a bunch of bored misaligned/motivated people making it hard on the serious investors who beleive in the future of HEC and the job the management is doing to build stockholder and company wealth with the business plan Harken is following. I sincerely hope the majority of you on this thread agree with me and we can contain ourselves in the future when one of these Zeev type guys come along again.
