Some rumors from street talks.

NSM has adopted a brand new strategy with their so-called partners to build the Cayenne in the form of Slot 1 and Slot 2. NSM is going to deliver the chips to its Taiwanese partners for them to assembly into the SEC forms for both SLOT 1 , SLOT2 and SLOT A.

Unlike the efficientless Intel, these high-competitive boards/cards manufacturers might integrate as much as 4MB L2 cache at the processor speed to accompany Cyrix Cayenne to slide into SLOT1. It is speculated that both of integrate and floating point performance on Cayenne with full speed 2MB L2 cache will be twice as fast as PII of the same core speed.

Of course, Intel is studying the legal issues on this project from NSM carefully and won't make any comments at this moment.

When it happens, you have to place orders with Taipei if you need the fastest x86 processors on the earth.

Fuchi ... who loves Cyrix's innovations
