Dragon Lady,
RE:"This following is the reason that Compaq is a better investment
than Dell....
Will Dell ship to Europe? And just how much would THAT cost
you??"

Sorry to inform you but Dell has a factory in Limmerick, Ireland which services Europe and Africa.
Dell also has a factory in Singapore that services Asia.

You really must keep better tabs on the competition.
Jim

"can you get repairs for a Dell by an authorized dealer/repair center anywhere else in the world but the US?"

Why the continual Dell vs Compaq banter? Both are great holdings and yes it is possible to invest in both. Dell does have a world wide presence. I live in Saudi Arabia and they have a nice distribution operation here as does Compaq. Our 50,000 + employee company has had Dell computers for the last few years so at least in some parts of the world they do have a presence more than mail order.

By the way, I now have Compaq stock and not Dell, so I have no agenda for Dell. Just wanted to let you know that Dell has more than a mail order business and have a world wide prescence.

Regards

Neil
