OIL

Without reading the chat thread on Triton, Jim, looking at Larry McMillan's latest stuff he says the most recent rumor on OIL is that Triton is not able to get bids for the entire company (at least not for a high enough price).

He suggests the chart is negative.

As you might recall, McMillan looks for impending news in a stock by reading the option tea leaves. Not that it means it will or it won't happen, but Triton has been a buyout rumor for ages. The XOI has not been doing well recently, perhaps it's just the season for OIL to pop up in the rumor mill once again, or perhaps this time is the time. Anyway, OIL has been popping up on McMillan's charts occasionally for a week or two with no reco from him.

I'll check the chat thread.

OIL

Did not get much off the message board; got a better impression from the news

quote.yahoo.com

It appears (to me, at least) that where you got in today is a reasonable price. If they are trying to sell assets then it would seem the company will pop on any news. Whether the assets are in the 25 dollar range or higher.

After all, if they only sell part of the assets and get $25 the remaining stock should be valued more than $4, and if you got in at today's closing price then you should do alright.

The presence of so many short-sellers is troubling; probably few of them believe anything will sell. Evidently that is what McMillan is hearing.

After I went through all this I was happy I switched over to trading futures; good luck with your position.
