Hi Stak,

The PDA will run on DEC's strongARM chip (now Intel, since they bought DEC). This chip has been especially designed for applications like voice or handwriting recognition. I can't answer the question about heat dissipation, most probably we should ask the company if this is going to be a problem.

As far as I found out they will first introduce such a device in the vertical market, i.e. medical or legal environment, at that stage the PDA will be a bit bulkier than a PalmPilot. Once it has been accepted in that market placed and totally debugged, they will launch it into the horizontal market. They don't want to end up like the Newton, go directly into mass market application and then be rejected because of initial deficiencies.

That's about what I have found out. Hope this helps. Any comments or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Best wishes,

Frank
