Joe,

I still don't think that DELL is in the same league as MSFT. The latter is a monoplay and the former will never achieve the status.

Anyway, do you have any good ideas about defensive plays in the time of a market correction that's coming? I can only think of MO, but it seems to me that Clinton is destined to screw the issue for the political reasoning. But writing a covered call and grabing some nice dividend is not a bad idea, I guess... And how about CD? At this value, it looks darn cheap to me. However, it might take several weeks for the selling to dry up.

Any idea is welcome. BTW, I am still waiting for YHOO! to make a significant dip so that I can reenter the issue. This dude is on my top watch list right now. So far no success. IMHO, YHOO! is definitely a core holding for the next decade, along with Softie. Maybe MO and KO will also be on the list, but the former has its problem, while the latter spots an amazingly high PE.

Also on my current watch list is CPQ. If this guy makes a convincing turn around, the Street can easily reward it with a 100% gain from current level.

good luck,
larry!
