Time Traveller:

<<Yes, although photons have no rest mass, they still do have an energy level. Anything that registers an non-zero energy can theoretically be trapped in a quantum well.>>

Wrong Time Traveller. A particle in a quantum well is in essence a particle interacting with another force, for example an electron trapped by the electrostatic force of a nucleus. A photon, even with energy, cannot be trapped. It can transfer its energy to another particle through Compton scattering but it can never be stopped since it doesn't interact with anything. Perhaps you might have travel to some other part of the universe which this phenomenon is not observed. Perhaps you can enlighten me with new physics.

By the way, I have an interesting question for you which I have been contemplating for sometime already. Do you believe in flying saucer (UFO)? From what I have heard or read they said that UFO has almost instantaneous acceleration and deceleration. This is a very peculiar observation. What are your thoughts? This is only possible if you can change your mass as you travel.
