Mr. Winters,

If you call the statement"CPQ HAS SOME SURPRISES COMING"
inside information, you are hallucinating. For all I know, it could mean that Pheiff has taken up magic & will pull a rabbit from his hat next Thursday!!

But.... it looks like you could use some "inside information". CPQ has done nothing but go up since you posted this.

SELL NOW! I predicted Compaq would move up a week or so ago but much to my chagrin it has not. This company is performing bad, and it looks like Wall Street hates it. I've sold all my shares for a hefty loss and gone short today at 24, no stop. The chart looks ugly and you better believe this thing is going lower with all these earnings warnings. Go shorts!>>

Best of Luck,

Mr. Junemann.

Tom, Bill -
To the best of my knowledge Steve Covin is not affiliated in any way with CPQ at this time and is a lot less connected than he was when he was actively posting. He is now working for a company which supplies components to CPQ. His restrictions about providing information have got to be a lot more related to his current company than to CPQ directly.

Steve (hpeace) does know a lot of CPQ insiders and probably has a good handle into the rumor mill in the 'old guard' at CPQ. But those are not the folks calling the shots any more. The CPQ old boy network is just as confused about what will happen as those outside the company.

The guys who know are not the ones who were running things 5 years ago. They are guys like John Rose, Enrico Pesatori, John Rando, Earl Mason - all ex-DEC and all with CPQ less than 5 years. And those guys are not talking much about their plans.
