Who says VHS was not 'better'? All these stupid consumers buying the worse product!

As I understand it, while betamax had a higher quality picture, you could fit 2 hours on VHS instead of the maximum 1 hour on Beta. Consumers decided to go for worse picture quality in order to get the ability to fit a movie on a single video tape. I would say therefore that for many people VHS was better.

For SOME people beta was better -- and still is. It is used in the audiovisual industry, for high quality recordings!
