Ben, I don't know what "emotions" have to do with anything. Indicators work or not. Of course, background facts/presuppositions need to be stated. My point was, as I said before, that lots of people sold calls out of fear that the price of Dell would decline further. I bought calls, and that has made all the difference.

The Max-Pain July'98 finalized Max-Pain options analysis graphs are available for viewing.

All of the July'98 puts went out worthless as the stock price rose almost $17 during the week to almost close at $117 9/16. The MMs and the July'98 covered call writers will be feeling the pain this month.

Earnings report months seem to be too volatile for Max-Pain to be a good indicator at these times.
