John,

While I own a little Igen, I wouldn't consider increasing my holding until the lawsuit is better resolved. Roche is a large, well known company; Igen is a small, little known company. We've heard the Igen side of the lawsuit; we haven't heard the Roche/BM side. I hope it turns out that Igen version is the correct one, but one has to be prepared for the possibility that it is not. Why would BM jeopardize an important relationship and major investment for the sake of a few dollars in royalties and a few extra machine placements? Why would Roche let them?

Putting on my hedger's hat for a moment, if we grant the superiority of the IGEN technology over existing methods, who (if anyone)is going to be hurt by it? There may well not be a pure play on the short side here, but it's always worth thinking about it.
