gregor,
Indeed, to be saved from the judgement and second death is a wonderful thing!
I have been doing a little work on my genealogy, which includes some Huguenots of France circa 17th c. and some of the Marquis of France at the time of Antoinette, both of whom fled to the US, one for religious reasons and the other for political reasons. In either case fled France for their lives no doubt.
Their involvement in the Revolutionary and Civil war in one branch, the Indian wars in another; I was overcome with a deep sadness. For I see myself in them and they in me and I wonder why so much struggle so much trial, so much glory and so much grief; and all for what, for they are all gone now. And I myself seem such a poor posterity to be the residue of such efforts!

Without the hope of the resurrection and the second life eternal, no doubt of all people we should be most miserable. Vanity vanity it put me in an Ecclesiastes mood!!
And I haven't gotten to the German Swiss side yet! Oh my...

God Bless,

Roebear
