Frosty, Vivus is up from a combination of all the factors,IMHO, article in J of Urol, buyout rumors, ad don't forget first report of death in Japan. Remember, other countries can't screen everybody for coronary artery disease like here so having sex be their first stress test ----> death!!! Remember that when we do a stress test we have the patient hooked up on a monitor and , BEFORE ANY SYMPTOMS occur[ chest pain or even heart attack( yes that has occurred during a stress test)], it shows up on the tracing and we stop the stress test, often minutes before any chest pain occurs. This doesn't happen during sexual activity: as you get turned on you have tachycardia ( rapid heart rate ) from 2 things: physical activity AND a massive adrenaline flow. If all of a sudden you start getting chest pain and your heart is in oxygen debt, you can stop your sexual physical activity but YOU CAN'T suddenly stop the Adrenaline flow: that takes about 3 more minutes to turn off at least. In fact what often happens is that Adrenaline DOES NOT get turned off: as soon as you start having chest pain you get severely anxious and ANXIETY creates another massive Adrenaline outflow, pumping the heart strong and fast so that it is as if you never stopped performing sex. Essentially then, that can change a simple anginal ( chest pain ) attack into a heart attack which signifies irreversible death of the myocardium ( heart muscle ). Now I bet you in Japan and a lot of other countries you don't have ambulances and means like the US where they can get you in an ER within minutes and give a blood clot dissolving medication ( window is within 60 minutes of the onset of the heart attack ) and so death of the myocardium and completion of the heart attack is the consequence. Bottom line is that I think other countries are going to be much more leery about approving Viagra for use now that we know how easily it can kill people with coronary art dis. TA
