Placements Banque Nationale is not a bank. It is a separate corporation from Banque Nationale. They are using a broker in the US to buy or sell in the US. I don't know who they are. They won't tell me.

I'm told also that Royal Bank is out of shares to short for INFE, also.

You can be out of shares to short, it happened to KTEL this year. What you say about naked shorting and MM is true.

I'll call tonight and ask a clarification, anyway.

Clarify: You can't short from the chartered banks you are correct but you CAN short from private brokerages....many people have 2 brokerage accounts solely for this purpose....a discount brokerage for buying and selling and a private broker to short issues like this (assuming the firm can find shares in the security you are interested in shorting)

Boob...need a good sum of money to short pennies tho....figures vary from brokerage to brokerage but don't be surprised if you are forced to have 5 times the money in the account if you plan on shorting a penny stock
