Dennis ---

Thanks for your response about the fix it for free part from GE.

I've called the GE regional customer service center year before last, when I replaced the second icemaker.
At that time I told them that the compressor was not in a normal mode of cycling.

While I'm not a engineer, I was enough of a tech to have kept 100+ refrigerant type machines operating ( sandwich, ice cream, milk, can drink, and cup with ice drink ) functioning for 30+ years with only the occasional outside help.

Your reminder of the problems of GE is well taken, and I do appreciate it. I just wish GE was as nice and reasonable in their response to my questioning.

The GE side by side and the Hotpoint which are in the garage both have a different style of compressor than this loud talking junkster that I have in the kitchen. On both of them I've installed a "tap a line" junction on both the high side and the low side so that I can correctly tell what is going on ..........
this "newer" style compressor is one of the reasons I sold out of the vending business nearly ten years ago.....
that and the advent of all electronic type of operations internally with the vending machines .....

Thanks again for the report and don't stay lurking in the background ---- post to us here.

Regards ---- Nemer
