MatriDigm Realigns Organization to Support Heightened Demand for Popular Y2K Solution Suite
Quarter-Over-Quarter Increase in Code Processed at MatriDigm Factory Prompts
Realignment
Key TAs and Strategic Partners to Benefit From New 'Focused Delivery Model'
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- MatriDigm Corporation, a leading provider of Year 2000 solutions, today announced several changes designed to help the company capitalize on -- and further accelerate -- the business momentum that has been building over the past two quarters. Chief among these changes are: the addition of industry veteran John Watters to the MatriDigm board of directors, in the capacity of chairman of the board; the expansion of Rich Ormond's role in the Company to that of president as well as chief operating officer; and the appointment of Jill Goldberg to the newly created post of director of business development.
According to Ormond, "The past six months have borne witness to enormous positive changes at MatriDigm. We have experienced what is clearly a surge in demand for our automated Y2K solution suite, fueled largely by the efforts of our key Technology Associates around the world. Our factory has also proven its ability to scale with this heightened demand. Recently, typical work units received at the factory have been successfully renovated and returned by our TAs to the customer -- along with complete, auditable documentation -- within seven business days, on average.
"Given our confidence in the scalability of the MAP2000 process -- which is now based on practice, not theory -- and the number of new customers who are approaching our TAs with remediation work," Ormond continued, "management felt it was critical to realign internal resources in a way that would ensure our ability to provide world-class support to key channel partners. MatriDigm now has a highly focused delivery model to meet the increasing service requirements of our TAs. However, even after this resource realignment, in excess of 30% of our personnel is devoted to development activities, including development on products that reach beyond the Y2K market."
Spearheading the efforts of enhancing business opportunities with MatriDigm's Technology Associate (TA) base will be MatriDigm's newly appointed director of business development, Jill Goldberg. Goldberg was instrumental in the successful establishment of MatriDigm Japan and the creation of the strategic partnership with Logica earlier this year. Her new activities will encompass directing resources at MatriDigm to provide the highest level of customer support to key TAs.
Company co-founder James Brady said, "While we are obviously saddened at the recent passing of our former chairman, Bill Esping, we are extremely fortunate to have attracted industry veteran John Watters to head the MatriDigm board. His keen business acumen, and demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and pragmatic advice, will benefit us enormously going forward."
Watters is chairman and CEO of Dallas-based EFO Holdings Inc. Under his direction, this diversified private investment firm has grown to over $300 million in equity and $1 billion in assets. Watters has served on the board of directors for many successful high tech companies, including Paris-based Wincap SA and U.S.-based Netspeed (which was sold to Cisco Systems in 1998 for $250M).
Jack King, MatriDigm board member and CEO of Zitel Corporation, added, "The entire board is extremely pleased that John Watters accepted the post of chairman. It is our firm belief that MatriDigm's ability to attract top executive talent like Rich Ormond and John Watters will serve to further accelerate the Company's current business momentum."
