Drew,

I have to admit that I don't have a wireless phone, I used one some time when I was without a wireline phone service. The one I used was el-cheapo Samsung CDMA phone. The stand-by time was not great. So I placed it in the charger for the night every night.

The amount of additional effort I had to spend to place the phone in the charger compared to placing it next to the charger was zero.

Suppose I had one of the phones with long standby time Tero talks about. What would I gain?

I would have an option of leaving the phone next to the charger while I sleep. But to take advantage of it, I would have to go through a mental exercise of trying to figure out how much time I spent talking on the phone, how many days past since the last time I charged it.

After going through this exercise daily, I would know if I should place the phone in the charger or not. That's the end result for the consumer of the "overwhelming" lead by Nokia.
