Dennis,

In all due respect..and as an ASND long....ASND's recent increase in valuation is, in part, a function of the bath they took last summer. They still aren't anywhere near their all time high. They are making numbers now (3 quarters..hmmm...like AAPL) but have lost two key deals recently (USWest and Sprint). Furthermore they are losing ATM switch business to routers and continue to believe that this isn't lost business. Finally they are not doing anything to expand their market and continue to hold the belief they are not vulnerable in the core. Dangerous...

I hope they either seek new markets or sell...again as a long. Oh, I should point out that there is likely 5-10 points of valuation in ASND's stock price that can be attributed to takeover speculation.

Dennis: My point was just that last July Wall Street analysts and tech pundits were _slamming_ the upper management of ASND. Actually calling them pretty ugly names in print and cursing their hair for lying to the Street.

This was _well_ after the Cascade purchase.

The only life in ASND these days is the product group you mentioned. 23% higher than a bad quarter is nothing I would cheer about but yes, at least it is up.

And the guy Wall Street cursed 12 months ago - is still there.

I am not making an opinion - I don't know any of them personally so I can't say myself. These are just the reference-able facts.
