Hell of a freight train. Are you sure you want to step in front of it?

PX, RE: shorting MSFT. To make any money shorting MSFT, you have to be very, very lucky. Forget being smart. Also, forget your ideas on value, for the most part. For the most part, your ideas on value will not control or predict the future price of MSFT.

That's the real world. Or, at least, the stock market, which is not exactly the real world, but a world of its own.

Regards,

Larry

PS: You need to know a heck of a lot about the stock market in general, and in detail, before you would have much chance of making money shorting MSFT. Being a tech head is not enough to give you a firm basis for shorting this particular stock.

MSFT is not an ordinary or average stock.

biz.yahoo.com Allen & Gates have sold approximately 1% of MSFT's market cap this year, IMHO a pretty significant amount.

astroecon.com If you do short MSFT, wait until July 24, just to be safe. <g>

But seriously, I do think a safer way to play this is a disciplined program of buying puts. I highly suggest you ask Michael Burke about this (here: #Subject-6780). He, too, has recently begun tackling MSFT.
