Don, if you know Claflin well, can you comment on DEC's marketing under Claflin's leadership? Previously people had been talking about DEC had good technologies and products but did not market them well. What's your response to that?

Don, thanks for your input on Claflin. >>I think Claflin was already talking to 3COM when he made that comment about not wanting to move to Houston back in April. It might have been a smoke screen. He probably got a huge severance package from DEC/Compaq. He would have received nothing if he simply resigned and went to 3COM.<< I figured CPQ was going to cut DEC costs a lot, so this crossed my mind. But, if Claflin is high caliber stuff, why would CPQ want to let him go? Especially, since it sounds like he had good PC connections to big customers? thanks, joe
