Jim,
Not to rain on your parade too much, but IBM has pulled out of
the Somerset design center (that designed that G3 chip). It is now
strictly a Motorola shop. Its not clear to me whether IBM will
manufacture future processors for Apple (if so I would guess it
will be based on pure profit/resource decision), but its very
clear we aren't going to design any more for them. That job goes
back to Motorola (albeit with a whole bunch of now ex-IBMers).
