Short term the US will continue to attract mania type investment in its stock market. This investment will ignore the awesome downward pressure on mfg. profits resulting from US importation of deflation.
The market will continue to highlight the success of the tech sector until unemployment/loss of wages ultimately attacks it also. The gradual lowering of interest rates will help keep the scales on our eyes. By the way gold correlates with the 30 yr. treas. bond. So the in the short term the dollar and the market up, interest and gold down. When employment drops the service sector will drop too. When the service sector drops the US economy will drop. When the US economy drops it will look very much like the Japanese economy of 1998
