I also have owned Data 1, the reason for it's fall was due to a law suit with Digital. The company was doing fine until the lawsuit, $52 million in sales and turning a profit. Now they have set up as a holding company with each division having it's own management team. They all report to one common board of directors. The InfraLiner Systems division looks huge,Wake Warthen has an investment banker back ground.I hope this helps!

If each facet of the holding company's business has it's own management and runs largely independently of the general holding company then each side should have it's own strength. This will enhance the performance of the overall. Data 1 was previously just the chip producer and marketing co. but is now the holding co. My view, as I think dbe's view is that the Infraliner side alone has a huge marketplace and with the strength of management that I am told it has, in the very near future we should see some of it's success feeding back to the share price!
When you were holding the stock before were you aware of the lawsuit with Digital? Data 1 is just out of the Courts and has been given a clean bill of health. Had it not been it surely would not have been chosen as the holding co. By the way, there is good money to be made in bottled water!!

This is only my take of course but it is partly these thoughts that lead me to buy the stock! If you can shed any further light or background here I would love to hear it.

Best regards.
