A, I do not think that any CPU of this class can beat a world class chess player, they have not fully comprehended the art of chess. The IBM gets cloer to the art of chess but still relies on exhaustive searches which real players do not.
What about checkers? has that been totally machine solved yet? By that I mean the machine can search the entire tree, This cannot be done in chess, not enough time(by a huge amount) but I think it can be done in checkers.
Now that BB has turned the corner soon they will have routine unbeatable chess machines(~5 years or so) for $100 or so. Is there a market for such a machine? ould I buy a machine I could never beat? There will probably be cheats when they sell the games.
