The most hillarious points of views the longs are using to justify the valuation can be found on TMF. Here are some of the more funny ones, at least as I read them:

1. AMZN will go into selling <insert new product here>. The new revenues will be more profitable then the book or record business.

2. Since selling books on the internet looses money, BKS and BDR are certain to leave the business, so AMZN will prevail and be able to raise prices and margin again.

3. Pyramid scheme Since the float is so small (Isn't 15% of AMZN owned by shorters?), just keep the stock in your non-margin account. When there is no more stock to short, it will inevitably rise. Oh yeah... I forgot... its short interest that make the price of stocks go up or down :)

4. Having the management of BDR and BKS deal with both internet and store sales will stretch them too thin. The'll leave the business.

5. Amazon has the brand name. What planet could these people be living on?

6. Subject change: Datek is the only broker with AMZN shares to short. Hey, aren't they under investigation? I use Datek, and I'd presume that they have shares to short because TMF has a newsfeed into Datek's wire postings. TMF has AMZN in their FoolPort and didn't recommend selling it at 139!

---

Just a curious question... why exactly do they call it the FoolPort, anyway?

I hate to make money off of misled investors, but better me then these fund managers who recommended it and have cashed out already. Whats left besides lambs anxiouisly awaiting the slaughter?

This week: AMZN Dead cat bounce.
Next week: The captain discovers that six sections of the bow were pierced by the iceberg.

Best wishes to all,

:)
