Initially I was also puzzled as to why the Singapore govt is taking such a long time. After all shares buy-back is nothing new and was allow in many countries. They are known to take swift and decisive action in the past. (But sadly, this time they have been procrastinating and were quite reluctance to admit Singapore is in trouble.) If share buy-back is approved at this time, it will only benefit a few companies (Creaf is fortunately or unfortunately in this privileged few). The market may or may not react negatively when other don't buy back their shares. But there is still another factor to contemplate - "losing face". Asian is very particular about it and "losing face"; my friend is not in the vocabulary of Singapore government Above is my humble "radical" view. I heard in the background "Stop that extremist PR from spreading further malicious lies. Jail him with ten strokes on his itchy buttocks. We will approve share buy back immediately to prove him wrong." Hallelujah, my tactics works, sometime you need to antagonize to get the job done. On your remark of Sim the "big shot" businessman, I have only one comment; he is a Singapore success story but not a Singapore Government success story. Please, oh please, save us the misery, Sim, never, never ever accept the "Business Man of the Year" BOY award AGAIN. Avoid it like plague. It is Jinx with a capital J. Look what they done to our BOYs mum! Disclaimer: Above fiction are not base on true account, It was a conspiracy theory thought of when PR got high on Viagra. O.K. PR had a confession to make - last month PR was in NY, instead of going to the PC Expo, I went hunting for Viagra. Being the adventurous - PR was eager to try this new wonder drug that make big men cries. PR is a macho man, so instead of swallowing the pill with water (only sissies do this), I chew Viagra neat, thinking and hoping that this will also have a faster and stronger effect. Oh yes...oh yessssss..Ah yesssss..., the wonder drug works.......... it works, my god it works ..................................................................... PR tongue stayed harden for the next 12 hour :-) Down but not out - the same cheeky PR ;-?
