Where did you hear that rumor? Your thoughts mirror my own regarding everything. When I read the press release I thought that it could be a suicide. Combined with the trading halt it raises a lot of question. I have seen similar releases that will usually say "natural causes".

Please don't repeat incredible rumors (of suicide) without at least citing a source!
