After reading the yahoo posts and rereading the ZD Net articles my conclusion(from a non technical person) is that Object Designs main focus with its products are ease of use while objectivities virtues are stability. Sort of like DOS and Windows. The programers I know liked to use DOS because of the stability but non technical endusers likes Windows even though it crashes more often because it is easier to use and manage. I think that Objectivities main market will be corporate Fortune 500 companies who can hire the programers and Object Designs main customers are medium to smaller customers who does not have such a large database and who does not have the resourcs to hire programmers to run their databases. Object Designs main protential I think is the Internet since they need to be more flexible and that non technical people need to know how to use it.
Again am new to industry/product but that's my take on the comparison. And with more and more non technical people thinking about setting up a web site with database funtions(Like myself) I think Object Design will prosper. That is why I bought Object Design stock today since before reading the article(On ZD Net) I dreaded thinking about how as a non programmer am I going to setup a database but after reading how easily the two also non technical web site partners set theirs up(and running it) I thought hhhhmmmm maybe not so tough after all(with object design). Am I correct on the Pro's and Cons of ODIS's products?
