IBM To buy 2nd largest chipmaker AMD for $40 per share...

Once again I get a call from my "hush-hush" friend at AMD telling me that there is DEFINATELY a takeover in the works, who the groom
is, he won't say or doesn't know, but my bet is on IBM, I have
even heard a buyout price of $60 a share but that seems a little high,
But it surely makes sense, if you've watched time & sales all day for the past week like I have, you've seen the same huge "Block Buys" going thru that I have, Even today when it should've run down under 16 3/4, the ask remained while the block buyer bought all the shares he could at 16 5/8 & 16 11/16, If it's not fund manager's tucking AMD away at a very cheap price, then it must be being accumulated by someone, this kind of block buying activity is almost always a sign of some kind of deal... We shall see & time will tell, But I loaded up from 15's all the way up to $18 5/8 & I'm in for the long haul, these low prices will seem like a give-a-way if a suitor comes out of the closet... Just a thought..

GoodLuck & GodBless,
-GG

Paul, re:<$50 Intel CPU cost excluding depreciation & other "fixed" costs>

Yes, $50 makes sense then. They can probably get to $30 cost with the cacheless PGA-package (Socket XXX) Celeron in January and $40-50 for the version with integrated 128K L2, but not in the Slot 1 package.

Do you have numbers on Intels % non-CPU business, CPU ASP?
