TA, Prozac is prescribed for many other illnesses other the "endogeneous depression", which, BTW is an outdated term. The Medical term for depression is Major Depression. Endogeneous depression was a term used years ago to describe what was thought to be "biological depression" as opposed to depression caused by psychosocial factors. The differentiation is no longer used. Prozac is used to treat Major Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Eating Disorder, PMS, certain Anxiety Disorders, and others.

Most of the law suits concerning Prozac were by patients or families that alleged that Prozac caused the patient to do things such as kill themselves or others. It really has nothing to do with the time it takes Prozac to be effective. In fact, many of the cases were from people who had been on Prozac for some time. Not one case was successful.

I think the analogy between Viagra and Prozac is excellent. I remember the Prozac medical/legal frenzy very well, and it is very similar to what is going on with Viagra now. Unfortunately, there are still some patients who also remember the exaggerated media frenzy who are still afraid the take the effective/safe drug Prozac.
The FDA had a hearing on Prozac around that time, and determined there was no causal relationship, just like they have done so far with Viagra.

Again, 31 deaths reported in the Viagra population is way lower than would be expected. The random death rate is much higher. As of this time, there is absolutely no evidence that the drug Viagra caused any of the deaths, outside the few that were the result of mixing viagra with Nitrates.

TA -----

One thing about your posts, they do provide a brief moment of comic relief, in a day filled with matters of import which impact my finance and monetary well being.

After several discussions with you, even though most of your responses were polite and showed some semblance of intellect on your part ( agreed, mine were pitiful and lacking in a display of cogent thought process), I decided to quit posting to you in the interest of simply saving bandwidth.
I sought to stop the constant bickering and was attempting to create a cessation of disharmony.
You, sir, are continually attempting to manufacture difficulties as far as Pfizer is concerned.

I feel that I speak for the posters, the readers, the lurkers of this thread when I respectfully ask you to cease and desist from any future attempts to spread your Bull $h*t here on this venue.

Should you actually be a medical purveyor, I can only hope and pray that your patients have come to seek your services because they have imagined problems, rather than actual needs.
With fictional type of ailments, you should indeed be of great relief to them, as you have proven by your multi posts to this thread to be a master of making problems out of whole cloth.

Hoping beyond hope to never again see you grace this thread , I send you my fond wishes .

Regards ---Nemer

Hmmmm, informative post and for that I thank you. However, I think your personal attacks on some of our fellow posters are approaching the malicious side and are uncalled for. I find the analogy between drugs appropriate. Just switch the names around and (with some exceptions, of course) we have a similar situation. JMHO
