What do you make of the AMD/MOT alliance?

I will wait for the announcement. There was a big deal about the agreement with IBM, which hasn't brought any fruit to AMD yet. I doubt it ever will. Just notice the 2nd or third rate process technology Cyrix gets from IBM. Why would IBM offer anything better to AMD?

I don't know what MOT would get out of all this. I doubt they want to enter x86 market. Is MOT trying to become foundry for AMD?

Compaq says they are making money on sub-$1,000 computers, analysts keep claiming that they can't possibly make money on them. Who is right?
