Anyone follow Web Stock Wizard? I have never heard of it except I read this off one of the other threads...the part re: Seek and Disney alliance was interesting. Any comments?

"From Web Stock Wizards: 7/18/98

We have removed Connect, Inc. (CNKT), Pro Net Link(PNLK), and SportsLine
USA(SPLN) from our watch list. Sorry, but we have our standards, and our
opinion of certain companies can change depending on certain factors.
Connect, Inc. recently reported a 47% drop in revenue. The achieved
customers such as AT&T, a Home Depot subsidiary, and MCA Health Pages but
are losing market share. We see the company as a strong buyout candidate,
but we are not ones to cross our fingers. As for Pro Net Link, the company
marketed the grand opening of their site well and then simply abandoned thei
r previous practices of announcing frequent updates after announcing a stock
lock-up. As any internet company that has gone public knows, in order to
raise speculative interest and investment one must provide reassurance. As
Pro Net Link will not be profitable for quite a while, we see other
investments such as Winners Internet Network(WINR), a company trading at
under 1/4 th of the price of Pro Net Link and already having announced
several million dollars in future revenues, as a far better value.
SportsLine USA is a company that we will miss. Clearly the leader in sports
content, we would not be surprised to see the company's stock double within
the next year as they start coverage of the NFL this fall and beat analysts'
earnings estimates. We have removed them from our list because of the
implications of Disney's deal with Infoseek. Infoseek acquired Disney's
investment in Starwave in the deal giving them content such as ABCNEWS.com,
ESPN Sportszone, NBA.com, NFL.com, NASCAR Online, and others, and increasing
their market reach tremendously. Although SportsLine USA's branding is
impressive, Infoseek's new collection of affiliated sites as well as
millions of new users could imply a lofty valuation once advertising
revenues roll in. We now view Infoseek as the internet subsidiary of
Disney. The shares of the company have attracted little attention lately
due to the fact that they seem overpriced based on Disney's purchase price.
However, analyzing the fundamentals, we see plenty of room for growth in the
stock's price. Disney isn't stupid. They didn't pay the high price that
individual investors have set on the company's stock because of the recent
run in internet stocks, but, instead, paid what they thought the company was
worth. Once investors put this behind them and Disney's new portal is
created, watch out! Concerning Connect and Pro Net Link, we continue to be
positive on their long-term prospects, but cannot ignore their short-term
volatility. As for SportsLine USA, we have simply found Infoseek, with
their new network of Sports-related sites, to be a far better value in the
on-line sports coverage industry, one that we view as undiscovered. We are
not going to bother with a description of Infoseek, Inc. Go to
infoseek.com or starwave.com and browse around.
Infoseek is now on our watch list. "

Latest News On The Server Product Front...

Have it on good authority that Javaseek, SEEK's newest
coolest pure 100% Java server product is ready for developer code release (no performance tuning) or almost ready. The actual product launch is slated for December.

This is good news for a variety of reasons. The product
itself is powerful, fast, extensible and just darned cool. Further,
I can imagine that it will be incorporated into a variety of database
and/or browser products going forward... a nice source of revenue.

Finally, it means that Kirsch and his team, despite all the recent
DIS-tractions, has stuck to their knitting, so to speak.

That's what I know.

Best Regards, True SEEKers,
