I think you can assume that IOM is coming out with a 1 platter 1 gig/2gig solution to obsolete Jaz 1/2 by the end of this year. This is why they refuse to lower jaz prices. Its a product in decline.

Zip is on its way as a standard in OEMs. However there is still a long way to go.

Komag also reported a 15 gig platter. Now I am not too worried about DVD. Cost parity between DVD and removable cartridge will be reached in 3 years.

Nomai's CDRW drive may become an IOM drive. This would be a shelf space argument on the retail side.

Ditto is dying fast.

Some positive, some negative.

I think its still dependent upon PC volume sales. If PCs are starting to sell faster, then IOm will do well. If they are still slow selling, then IOM will do bad.

All our arguments boil down to this...
