I think most of the sales & marketing increase has gone on sales, not marketing. But in any event, the objective is not for the company to spend more of our (stockholders') money, but to be more effective in marketing the company's products and services. Of course we (or I do anyway) accept that increased expenditure is necessary.

I still think we need increased marketing effectiveness. Perhaps one good step was the appointment of the new PR firm a few weeks ago. If I see one more magazine article about OO database technology that doesn't even mention the market leader (ODIS of course), I think I'll have a brain haemmorrhage!

And to give some credit, the product set has been repositioned gradually with the "Cache Forward" phrase and all that stuff. But this company should be as famous as Citrix. I still think marketing is a weak point. Perhaps Bob Trocchi, as a professional marketer, could offer a second opinion.
