Hello Bob

Okay, getting back to this thing:-)

you said
<< If He does not punish, Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, Adolf Hitler and Satan will enjoy the same eternal fate (Not much incentive to do good, is it). Surely, this would not be fair to the people who devote their lives to serving others and serving God.>>

I don't think it is a question of incentivizing. I dont' think(IMO) we are supposed to follow god's word because we want a reward. I think we ae suppossed to do whats right, because it is the right thing to do. rewards are very similar to bribes.
Besides, if the issue is incentive, why wouldnt Mother thearesa compalin that you and her go to the same level of heaven? Afterall, she has given far more of herself to selfless duty and god's work than almost anyone alive today. Shouldn't she get more? Then, what about an average guy and good christian who does a little more charity work than the next guy. should he get more? Is that fair? Where does the line get drawn? It can get confusing.

I think god loves us all. Saint ans sinner alike. I think when you get to heaven, your concern will be less about what is fair in relation to your mortal life than it will be in what is the highest path and noblest virtue.
Resentment over reward wont fit into that scheme, IMO.

I read a book once, that most people on this thread would absolutely hate, and would scoff at. It is called "conversations with god", by Neale Donald Walsch. It has been critiqued as portraying god as a New Age wimp. I kind of liked it though. I didnt agree with everything,
but liked most of it. there was one part that said the following that I especially liked.

Every situation is an opportunity to show to the universe the grandest version of the highest vision you have ever held of yourself. wouldnt it be wonderful if we all could live with that motto? I think it would be.
