Not surprisingly, in addition to EMC reporting strong FC interest, SEG also reported that FC growth was robust in their CC (not surprising, because EMC buys all or at least the great amjority of their drives from SEG). They declined to be specific, but said that FC drive shipments showed "high double digit growth". They said that it took longer than they expected, they had two years ago expected the market to be where it is today last year, but that they believed that they would see the same kind of growth for at least several more quarters, and maybe longer. FC, they believe, is finally taking off.

More on EMC/FC Revenue:

techweb.com

<< Revenue for the quarter, which closed June 30, was $952 million, up 33 percent from the second quarter of 1997. >>

<< ...Third, EMC is starting to see revenue from sales of its Fibre Channel interconnect solutions this year, bringing in more than $140 million in revenue for the quarter. >>

140/952= 14.7%
