DIAMOND MARKET
ABZ is not the only diamond play that is suffering. The market negatives are pretty severe.Japan and asia will not be buying a whole lot of diamonds anytime soon.India is overproducing as is australia. Debeers marketing clout is tenuous. If asian flu becomes world pneumonia forget about diamonds for about 10 years.I think all of the above is weighing on the market.Things cant get much worse which is of course the signal to buy.Only fly in ABZ's ointment is the soon to come need to finance 40% of 800 million.Heres a scenario:
Some one is pushing abz down in order to get huge stake when abz finally must go to the equity market for its share of the startup costs. At that point the house either is satisfied with the cheap shares aquired or goes for controll in hostile takeover.Funny thing that the poison pill was taken off the table is'nt it? Something is up!!
